Inventions

I invent things ALL THE TIME. But I’m essentially Steve Jobs without the implementation skills. If these ideas don’t already exist, please run with any of them and make the world a better place.

Heather’s Inventions: a Re-Cap

November 16, 2017: Advocates for Hire

October 2017: A telephone call screening device (I picture it looking like a 1990s answering machine) that screens unknown callers so that the phone doesn’t ring unless it’s a recognized and approved caller. Unapproved callers can record messages that can be heard later, and the caller can then be added to the “approved” list or marked as spam. I’ve heard of too many otherwise-savvy Baby Boomers (and older folks) falling for scam phone calls. Someone uber-susceptible (i.e. your great-great grandparents) could have their screening device monitored by a caretaker or trusted family member, who checks the messages when they come visit and then approve/spam-box the phone callers’ numbers. This screening service could be added to any telephone service provider’s menu of services.

July 4, 2017: I’d like to be able to seamlessly shift from the actual book I’m reading to an audio book version of the story. So when it’s time to wash dishes or etc I can keep reading my book. It would be easy to make this work with an e-book but I want something equally seamless with a hard copy book.

January 4, 2015:

1. Something that stops all of Isaac’s toys from going under the couches and bed, and

2. A toaster that has a lever so when the toast is done you can raise the lever and the toast comes above the toaster, so you don’t have to stick your fingers in and risk getting burned/electrocuted.

Sometime 2007-2012: orcharding, barns and the “farm wife”.

September 28, 2005: tucking in shirts.
