Murder Mystery Brainstorm

Three men are on an isolated archery course in the forest in late July, 2019. It is 6:47 a.m.. They are a 15 minute walk from other people, with no cell service.

  • Jay is lining up his shot at the target (see photo below).
  • Alex stands behind him, waiting his turn to shoot.
  • Levi is around the corner, using the outhouse.

An arrow comes from behind Alex and hits Jay, passing through the side of his chest: he falls over.

NOTE: Alex and Levi are property developers, not medical or law enforcement experts.

What does Alex do?

  1. Alex becomes completely paranoid, simultaneously sure that either Levi has murdered Jay OR that he is going to be accused by Levi and the police that he has shot the arrow.

Even though we all know he did not kill Jay, he proceeds to act as if he is guilty because of the circumstances.

  2. I would expect Alex would check to see what shape Jay is in, pull the arrow out and check his vitals.

Get help from Levi or at least see where Levi is. Ascertain the situation — is Levi responsible? if so, was it an accident or did Levi have an ulterior motive to kill/maim Jay? Is Levi unstable? With Levi’s weapon, will he go Postal and is he intent on hurting/killing Alex as well?

With or without Levi’s help — get walking to get help asap and/or get his own ass out of there asap before he becomes the next victim.
